The features that make Natural Rocksand a superior choice over river sand include :

  • The uniformity size and shape of teh sand particles reduce voids in the structure and thus lend it extra solidity and higher compressive strength to the concrete.
  • Absence of organic adn inorganic impurities in the sand effectively survice climatic vagaries.
  • Cubical nature of the sand particles & less void content Saves on consumption of cement by 4% – 5% as well as water.
  • Equidimensional nature of the sand particles.
  • Helps effectively to overcomes such common concrete deficiencies like – segregation, bleeding, honeycombing adn capillaries.
  • Saves on the labour and other costs of sieving and screening associated with river sand. Rocksand is available in required quantites and at a cost relatively lesser than river sand.
